Waste Management Scouting Study - Stakeholders Mapping and Waste Flow in Jakarta and Surabaya

Client:
PT. Deloitte Konsultan Indonesia

Description

About Solid Waste Management Research

Indonesia is the 2nd biggest contributor of plastic waste into the oceans, primarily through the mismanagement of land-based waste. In 2010, it was estimated that 3.2 million Mt/year of plastic waste were mismanaged, and that the volume would more than doubled by 2025 if no significant changes were to take place.
The study aimed to better understand waste management in Indonesia, map the flow of packaging waste, and identify potential key stakeholders to collaborate with in order to prevent packaging waste from ending up in the ocean.
