In order to realize a sustainable waste management system, collaboration between five aspects is needed, namely legal, institutional, financial, technical, and community participation. Moreover, a good waste management governance is also crucial in synchronizing all of the interrelated aspects. Therefore, there is an urgent need to Improve the aspect of Waste Management Institutions and Partnership. To start with, waste management policies in Indonesia are formulated by various institutions, from national to regional levels. Consequently, one of the keys in implementing these policies lies in the hand of the provincial and local government. Therefore, this study aims to provide an overview of how and in what manners regional government institutions in Indonesia implement its solid waste management system, especially when taking into consideration that Regional Goverment has greater roles and authorities in the implementation of waste management system.
