Waste4Change, Duitin, and Sinar Mas Land Present Recycling Points to Support a Greener BSD City
BSD City, September 21, 2023 – PT Wasteforchange Alam Indonesia (Waste4Change), in collaboration with Duitin and supported by Sinar Mas Land, officially introduces the Titik Daur Ulang (TDU) / Recycling Point, an innovative responsible waste collection and management facility for the community. TDU is established as a public facility with the aim of facilitating the community in managing post-consumption waste more responsibly.

The collaboration between Waste4Change, Duitin, and Sinar Mas Land to greenify BSD
This first TDU is located in The Breeze area of BSD City, Tangerang. Waste4Change’s TDU facilities will be situated at three strategic locations in BSD City. These facilities consist of the Ruang Daur Ulang (RDU) / Recycling room, located at The Breeze, which accepts inorganic waste and electronic waste. Additionally, Kotak Daur Ulang (KDU) / Recycling Boxes will be placed in the areas around QBig and ITC BSD City, which will accept paper waste, other inorganic waste, and electronic waste. All members of the community are encouraged to bring their waste to these locations.
During the inauguration event of TDU in BSD City, Mohamad Bijaksana Junerosano, CEO of Waste4Change, revealed that this collaboration is an important step in supporting the community in waste separation at the source. “The introduction of TDU is a crucial step in implementing the Reduce Waste to Landfill concept that is close to the community. According to data from the Ministry of Environment and Forestry, on average, one Indonesian citizen generates 0.7 kg of waste per day. Most of this waste still ends up in landfills. However, upon closer examination, a significant portion of this waste can be recycled. We hope that this business partnership can make it easier for the community to contribute to the responsible management and recycling of waste, especially inorganic waste.”
The business partnership that has been established and inaugurated today will open up opportunities for other parties to join in creating more recycling points in various cities in Indonesia. “With an increasing number of recycling points, it will be much easier for the community to help reduce the burden on the Central and Regional Governments in landfill management for waste that could otherwise be recycled. Beyond that, it will also create job opportunities for those who want to join at each recycling point,” added Adijoyo Prakoso, Co-Founder & COO of Duitin.
The support for the TDU facilities in BSD City, in collaboration with Waste4Change and Duitin, is also part of Sinar Mas Land’s sustainability initiative to create a lush environment. Since last year, Sinar Mas Land has been emphasizing the importance of providing environmentally friendly and sustainable housing and self-sufficient urban areas. To complement this concept, responsible waste management is a critical aspect that needs to be considered. We hope that the presence of TDU in BSD City can serve as an example for future strategic collaborations,” concluded Fadhlan Fariz, Investment Manager Living Lab Ventures, Digital Investment Specialist at Sinar Mas Land

Waste4Change and Duitin’s relationship continues; both share a vision and multiple responsibilities to be carried out collaboratively. The TDU, which was inaugurated today, represents a concrete collaboration for waste solutions in Indonesia. We invite to offer a sustainable framework for companies, brand owners, product makers, and all other relevant parties to collaborate in providing “take-back” facilities (packaging waste recovery) to consumers or users of their products. The most important component is shared responsibility and commitment. We invite everyone to work together to tackle and resolve the waste problem effectively and sustainably. We are an important part of Indonesia, and we encourage you to join us in making changes.
