Flexible plastic packaging in developing countries such as Indonesia is one of the main choices for manufacturers to package their products. Unfortunately, this material does not yet have a significant recycling market. Apart from being light and thin, some types of flexible plastic packaging are also multilayered and therefore difficult to recycle due to the high cost required to separate the different layers. This research was conducted to understand the value chain of flexible plastic waste in DKI Jakarta and the proportion of flexible plastic waste that is recycled in the chain. In addition, this research also identifies the potential and challenges of flexible plastic waste recycling as input for policy makers and relevant stakeholders.
