Why Waste Management is A Great Future Investment

Waste is still an inevitable result of technology advancement. This material is pilling up and we need a solution to reduce the number.

As stated in broadgroup.com, who would have thought that in recent years, recycling waste materials has become common practice in households, small businesses, and even large organizations worldwide.

The good news is, waste management is not only a way to protect the environment, but also a great investment opportunity. Get the ball rolling into waste management investment to start saving the earth.

What Could We Make From Waste?

Used material is not a waste until we decide that it’s a waste. Instead of piling up waste at the landfill, we could take benefit from our used materials. Below are the things we could make from waste:

1. Reduce the production cost
By taking steps to reuse and recycle the waste, a business is able to reduce the total of production cost. There are also a number of benefits a business could have by doing waste management, such as  saving the money on supplies, reducing the current waste disposal costs, and in the long term this step may avoid the environmental burden caused by producing and disposing unnecessary materials.

2. Make inorganic residual waste into Refuse-Derived Fuel (RDF)
Refuse Derived Fuel (RDF) is a renewable energy produced from Municipal Solid Waste. This waste is usually taken from industrial or commercial sites, including residual waste or the type of waste that is difficult to be recycled. This type of energy can be used as fuels on cement productions, substituting the conventional fossil fuels.

3. Turning organic waste into valuable things
According to Ministry of Environment and Forestry data in 2017, as many as 60% of Indonesian people’s waste that ends up in the landfill is organic waste. As an easy-to-decompose material, there are plenty of ways to optimize the organic waste, namely:

a. Make it into compost: The simplest way to divert organic waste from landfills is by composting at home. Composting will help to enriches and fertilizes the soil. Worry not, now you can create your own compost easily using Waste4Change’s Composting Bag

b. Turn into animal feed: As another option, to prevent ending up in the landfills, organic waste, especially food waste also can be turned into animal feed.

c. As main material for biogas: As is widely known, organic waste is the main material to produce biogas and other sources of renewable energy such as biofuel. This type of energy is mostly used to produce electricity and heat.

Where to Start?

In 2019, the Directorate General of Waste and Hazardous Materials Management of Environment and Forestry Ministry predicts that the whole waste generation in Indonesia will reach 68 million tons per year.

Let’s start your waste management investment with Waste4Change. As the company who handles eco-friendly waste management, Waste4Change has gained the investment trust from Agaeti Ventures together with East Ventures and SMDV in March 2020.
