Once a waste, forever unuseful. It’s final. Nothing you can do with it. Holding and storing it will only put health risks to you and your family, and that’s why the waste needs to be quickly removed from your home, from your surroundings, from your view, and from your mind–in any way you can.

Sure, you know that your waste could be recycled in some way but did you know how the recycle industry goes? There are waste processing agent and waste recycling agent whose job is to handle your waste. A mixed waste will be a total problem for them.

Busting the Myth About waste

Here’s what you should know:

Waste isn’t always useless and harmful, but the way you treat your waste will be the key factor that will determine your waste’s fate:

Will it be useful or will it be a burden to our life as a human?

Will it be helpful, or will it be stuck in our waterway, floating in our ocean, poisoning our sea creatures?

The truth is, one of the reasons why we’re having so much waste problems nowadays is that people tend to believe that by making sure that their lives are healthy without waste is just enough. One of the factors that cause our earth’s climate change and alarming plastic marine debris is that people tend to think that by throwing waste regularly into the right place is more than enough.

The big question will be this: If removing the waste isn’t enough to ensure the sustainability of our environment, what should we do in order to make things right?

Who to Hold Responsible for Our waste?

Our earth’s getting warmer every day and our sea keeps getting filled with waste, so something needs to be done in order to make things right.

Instead of thinking that somebody will take care of our waste, why don’t we see it like this:

My Waste is My Responsibility. We are responsible for making sure that the waste will be handled the right way in order for it to be harmless to our environment or better, to be useful for our life.

We are responsible for our waste and that’s mean we are obliged to prepare our energy, our time, and our resource to support the whole cycle of the waste–from the minute we bought it as a useful item, and then how we use it so it’ll be useful for a long time, and how we disposed of it so it will be useful later.

My Waste My Responsibility

a pile of garbage

Don’t get panic, it might sound hard at first, but being responsible for your own waste is surprisingly quite easy, we have summed it up into 3 simple steps:

  1.       Before buying any items or consuming any products, think more about what kind of materials are used to make the thing: is it from a renewable resource? Can it be recycled? This will help you to make a decision in the next steps.
  2.       Now think again: is the product reusable or can you only use it once? Will you use it more than once? Do you know how to take care of it so you can keep using it for a long time? How to care for it? Where should you store it?
  3.       And the last thing, how will you dispose of it after you’re not using it again? Is it recyclable? If yes, where should you distribute it in order to make sure that it will really get recycled in the end? If it’s not recyclable, can you reuse it? Donate it? Resell it?

The point is, whatever you want to do to your waste is entirely your decision to make, but you are entirely responsible for making sure that your waste doesn’t get in someone else’s way, ruining somebody else’s life,  poisoning somebody else’s food.

Now, repeat this in your head:

Reuse, donate/resell, or recycle before you dispose of it and if those 3 can’t be done to the item, reduce the use of it!
