Eco Kids Fun

ECO KIDS FUN is an activity that has a fun educational element for children. This concept is a mainstay of Waste4Change in instilling awareness of responsible waste management for children through education.

Educational activities were conducted with the aim that participants gain understanding of waste management and 3R concept (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle). Waste education and 3R were attractively and creatively designed to be understood by children.

One of the interesting activities of this event is the Monster Plastic Bag Drama. Monster Plastic Bag Drama is a form of creative education in ECO KIDS FUN, to show the bad effect of behavior that is not environmentally friendly. In the drama, people who carelessly threw plastic bags were being chased by the monster plastic bag. In the end, the perpetrators realized that littering is a bad example and could damage the environment.

Children are also taught how to sort the waste according to the type that is designed in a form of a game. In the garbage sorting games, kids raced to put the trash by its category. Waste is divided into 3 types, namely 1) easy to decompose garbage, 2) paper waste, and 3) glass, metal and plastic waste. Hopefully, the game could provide information, simulation, and also as a child’s motor exercises about what types of garbage can be sorted and recycled in everyday life.

Responsible “Event” Waste Management

Besides educating, Waste4Change also helps in realizing responsible waste management during the event. Started from reduce, where the participants do not use bottled water (Bring Tumbler themselves) and do the “Operasi Semut” around the area. Then there is the reuse and recycle action, where all the waste generated during the event will be managed and recycled by Waste4Change, so that no waste is thrown into the landfill.

Nggak nyampah, Nggak susah. That was the mindset that Waste4change wants to pass on in this cheerful and relaxed event. The moment of National Trash Peduli Day is a lesson for all of us to further increase awareness of waste. This activity has a message to invite participants and children to start sorting waste properly and remind us to always behave environmentally friendly wherever and whenever.
